Dead Leg Discount - Making the Most of your Drivers' Dead Mileage
One of the problems all Private Hire Operators have is the wasted resource of Drivers driving empty to base after dropping passengers at their destination. Minicabit is launching another one of its solutions for the industry.
You can now attract customers by creating a “Dead Leg Discount” to be extra competitive against Uber, Bolt and other ride-hailing companies.
You can discount a return journey up to 50%, and setup days/weeks in advance. Now your drivers need not drive all the way back to base without any passengers. What’s more, you can use this feature with your own bookings, as well as minicabit bookings, so that your cars are not empty during the return leg of a trip.
How does it work?
You can enter a Dead Leg Discount from your dashboard under My Pricing > Dead Leg Discount.
Let’s say your driver is scheduled to drop-off passengers at Heathrow Airport next morning at 7:20am - with the Dead Leg Discount, you can now appear for searches on minicabit within a 2-mile radius of Heathrow going towards 2-miles of a specific postcode (your base), or anywhere within 20 miles of this postcode.
Since your price is covering the dead-leg and heavily discounted, you will appear on the top of the search, making it more likely for you to get the first search on our platform for the route. Below is a diagram to explain this visually.
