How to set up your Electric Vehicles (EVs)
The biggest feature of our new admin.minicabit.com portal which you, as a valued Cab partner, can now benefit from. Many of our airport/travel partners and business customers are pushing for more minicabit bookings fulfilled by fully Electric Vehicles (EVs), given the government’s greener focus away from pure Petrol/Diesel cars in the next few years.
- we’ve completely restructured our new admin.minicabit.com portal so no matter how big or small your fleet size, if you have at least 2 EVs, you can start generating more revenues for them now
- When we refer to EVs, we mean fully Electric Vehicles, not hybrid cars that also have plug-in electric capability
- given the average fare booked on minicabit is now £80, we will soon prioritise presenting competitive quotes for fully Electric Vehicles to customers so they get more of this work. And if you’re unsure if your EVs can do such longer distance trips, we’ll also be launching some extra tools that can address this
- we now also support adding Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) in exactly the same way as the steps for EVs below.
How can you add your EVs?
Just click ‘Add Fleet Type’ in the top right hand corner of your admin.minicabit.com portal - here, you can add your EV profiles, whether for
How do you set your EV pricing?
Your existing cars will now be classed as a Petrol/Diesel/Hybrid fleet (unless it was previously set up on minicabit as an EV fleet). But to avoid having to enter new pricing for EVs, you can
How do you set your availability for each type of EV (Standard vs Executive vs Luxury)?
You can separately manage your availability for EVs just as you do for your other car types.
i) Number of Vehicles
Remember, the no. of cars you need to enter per day is not based on how many EV cars you have in total but instead based on the no. of EVs you can make available in any one hour for minicabit jobs. Since customers booking your EVs will always expect a fully Electric car to turn up (and not a hybrid or other car type), please add the no. of EVs you can realistically always dispatch for minicabit’s EV bookings
The following settings can also be separately applied for your EV cars - please email admininfo@minicabit.com with the details you want us to apply specifically for any EV Standard vs EV Executive vs EV Luxury cars you have :
ii) Notice Period - the min. notice you need to receive jobs regarding your EV Standard vs EV Executive vs EV Luxury cars
iii) Trip Range - whilst we’d expect the pickup range to be the same as your other types of cars, the maximum dropoff range may be a bit shorter for EVs. If you have different EVs with a variety of battery ranges, best to give us the average of them e.g. if you have EV Standard cars with 250 miles and 350 miles’ range, then you can tell us to enter 300 miles as the dropoff range for your EV Standard Cars (this may be different for any EV Executive vs EV Luxury cars you have)
iv) Operating Hours - you can tell us the pickup times by day of week your each EV type is available for, including if it’s 24/7
How will I know if the booking is for an EV and which type?
This will be indicated in the booking profile on your admin.minicabit.com portal and our confirmation emails. You can now also search for bookings relating to each car type that you’ve set up
Support for Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) now available!
As you know, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) are cars (eg VW Caddy) that have a ramp to enable a passenger in a wheelchair to be easily onboarded and transported. You can now also add WAVs in exactly the same way as you add EVs.
A reminder you need to email your Availability settings for each type of EV and WAV, or any other questions, to admininfo@minicabit.com.
